How I Review:
I have accepted books from those who expect a review at some time in the future. It will be an honest review, which could mean a not- so- positive or even a negative one, whatever my personal opinions may be. Do not expect a positive review. I give positive reviews if the book warrants it. I am also not an overly critical reviewer as I do not take satisfaction of ripping apart an author's pride and joy. I will state why I don't like the book but I do not point out each and every discrepancy that I found. When other reviewers do that I find it tedious while it shows immaturity and narcissism on their part, however, I will always point out why I felt negatively about a part of a book.

What I Review:
With that said, I also must state that I have come to the point that after three years of book reviewing that I do not accept books that do not fit into my favorite niches of genres of historical fiction and non-fiction; I personally request many books from my favorite authors so that I know in advance there is a strong chance I will enjoy the book. I do not like wasting my time (or an author's time) with books that I know are not up my alley, and this selective process helps keep my ratings high in my book reviews.
I AM NOT RESPONDING TO UNSOLICITED REVIEW REQUESTS

If you really think there is a 99% chance I will love your book specifically because it is one of the authors I have read before or it is a highly-anticipated historical fiction piece of work please email me at Reviewer at BurtonBookReview.com (omitting the spaces and inputting the at symbol). Also note that I will not guarantee a time period within which I will place the review online.

Formats:
I accept only printed material for review: printed galleys, ARC's, paperbacks and hardcovers.

The Disclosure:

I do not use this blog to ENDORSE books for the publisher/author, I state my opinion which is requested of me. I do not consider receiving books as compensation for a review; true compensation would be paying me an hourly wage for the time it takes to read a book, and write the review on the book (and to host the website). I do this as a hobby. This blogger is not affiliated with a specific publisher or author and does not receive monetary compensation from any of the above. I disclose in each of my reviews the source of my books. Most are sent by a publisher or author, others are bought via used bookstores, Paperbackswap; and some may be gifted from giveaways.

I have stated before that I have set up an Amazon Affiliates store, so if you click a very specific Amazon link and actually purchase that very specific book through that link or through the storefront, then I will receive 1-2% of that purchase. It hasn't happened yet even though I know someone purchased something using that store I set up. Who knows what the point is, but I do add books to that store from time to time that you may find intriguing.

Blog Stats:
